Personalized support

Testosterone therapy can come with undesirable side effects, but treatment isn’t one-size-fits-all. Our doctors can tailor your prescription to your needs, including adjustments to dosage and the addition of a supportive medication called anastrozole to help manage the most common side effect of TRT, increased estrogen. If the doctor deems anastrozole appropriate for your treatment, it will be included with your first shipment, and your needs will be reevaluated at your 3-month follow-up.

How to use

Testosterone Foundation is self-injected intramuscularly, typically into the gluteal or thigh muscle, once every 7 to 10 days, depending on your prescribed dose. You will receive more detailed instructions with your first shipment, if prescribed. Consistency is key, so ensure you follow the recommended schedule for optimal results. Always reach out to your provider if you have any concerns or need assistance.

Providing bloodwork

To start this treatment, at your 3-month follow-up, and recurring yearly, you must provide lab results. This helps the doctor ensure that the treatment is working as it should and offers the chance to make any adjustments.

Obtaining labs
You can use previous bloodwork if they meet the minimum requirements, or obtain new results at your chosen lab. We recommend LabCorp On Demand or Quest Diagnostics.

Why in-person labs?
Choose any clinic or lab – Go wherever is convenient for you; you're not limited to a specific provider.
No need to collect samples yourself – Skip the hassle of at-home kits or figuring out how to draw your own blood.
Insurance may help cover the cost – Many labs accept insurance, which can lower your out-of-pocket expenses.
Faster turnaround time – Since samples don’t need to be shipped back and forth, results often come in sooner.
Minimum requirements
  • checkmark

Results include values for free testosterone, luteinizing hormone (LH), and estradiol at minimum.

  • checkmark

Results were collected within the past 90 days.

  • checkmark

Document must be official and show that the testing was performed at a legitimate lab.

Submitting the results
You'll be asked to submit your bloodwork during your intake, but if you don’t have them yet, you’ll have 10 days to upload them in your patient portal. If we don’t receive them within that window, your prescription request will be cancelled. You’ll also use the portal to upload future results for follow-up visits.

“I started gaining weight and feeling sluggish in my mid-30s. Bloodwork showed low T, and this treatment has made a real difference. I have more stamina, and I’ve been seeing better results at the gym. Took about a month to feel it, but worth the wait.”

Common questions about Testosterone Foundation

Visit our FAQ page for more

How do I know if I have low testosterone?

Symptoms of low testosterone (aka “Low T”) can include fatigue, low libido, weight gain, mood changes, trouble focusing, and reduced muscle mass. The only way to know for sure is through a blood test and doctor evaluation.

Who is a good candidate for this treatment?

We generally recommend Testosterone Foundation for men with low testosterone (hypogonadism) who have not previously tried testosterone replacement therapies and are looking for a consistent, long-acting option to help restore hormone balance. It is a great introduction to TRT if you're dealing with symptoms like low energy, reduced sex drive, mood swings, or muscle loss, and bloodwork confirms low T levels. As with all testosterone therapies, lab-confirmed diagnosis of low T is required before starting treatment.

Is this treatment well-tolerated?

When prescribed and monitored by a licensed medical provider, testosterone therapy is generally well-tolerated. Your care team will assess your health history and labs before prescribing, and continue monitoring to ensure everything stays on track.

What is an add-on and why might I need it?

As testosterone levels increase, it can be converted into estrogen, potentially leading to unwanted side effects like mood swings, gynecomastia, and water retention. To help address this, you doctor may prescribe an add-on called anastrozole, mediates the body’s estrogen levels, allowing for balanced hormone levels throughout treatment. If prescribed, your add-on and any necessary instructions for use would be included with your prescription at no additional cost.

How do follow-ups work?

If prescribed, you will have virtual follow-ups every 3 months. Follow-ups involve uploading new bloodwork results followed by a few quick questions to help the doctor evaluate your progress and make any changes to your dosage. You will receive text and email communications when it is time to complete your follow-ups, and it is vital that you complete them in a timely manner to ensure the safety and effectiveness of your treatment.

What is the process for submitting bloodwork?

Bloodwork must be obtained from a reputable lab. We recommend using LabCorp On Demand or Quest Diagnostics for convenience. You will submit these labs during your initial visit, or if you don’t have them yet, you can upload them to your profile within 10 days of submitting your prescription request. You will also be asked to submit update bloodwork results along with each 3-month follow-up to ensure treatment remains safe and effective.
