What is V-Cream?

V-Cream is a compounded topical medication formulated with valacyclovir to help manage viral skin outbreaks such as HSV-1 and HSV-2. Instead of treating the body system-wide, it's applied directly to the affected area, allowing for targeted support right at the source. This localized approach offers a discreet, convenient option for people looking to address symptoms quickly and effectively.

How to use

  • • V-Cream can be applied as needed directly to the affected area. Before use, clean the area and your hands. Start with a small amount, and massage gently into the skin. Add more as needed, and wash your hands after application.
  • • The doctor will personalize your instructions to fit your unique needs. Details will be included in your shipment, if prescribed.
  • • Always reach out to your provider if you have any concerns or need assistance.

Potential side effects

  • • Side effects include redness, dryness, tingling, or mild irritation, but these are all typically mild and temporary. Contact your provider if you notice any side effects that bother you or don't go away.
  • • Prescription products require an online consultation to determine if a prescription is appropriate. We include regular follow-ups with your provider to monitor your response.

Only available by prescription from provider after virtual consultation. Product images are for illustrative purposes only and may include branding used for marketing. The actual medication you receive will be compounded and dispensed by a licensed partner pharmacy and labeled in accordance with pharmacy regulations. Compounded drugs are permitted to be prescribed under federal law but are not FDA-approved and do not undergo FDA safety, effectiveness, or manufacturing review. Individual results may vary.

Using V-Cream

How it works

V-Cream works by interfering with viral replication at the application site. By applying the medication directly to the skin, it helps limit viral activity locally, which may reduce symptom severity and support faster healing. Early use—especially at the first sign of tingling or irritation—can help improve outcomes.

What to expect

When used as directed, many people notice reduced irritation and discomfort within the first few days of use. Results are often best when V-Cream is applied early, at the first sign of symptoms. Healing time can vary based on the severity of the outbreak and how quickly treatment is started.

Potential side effects

The most common side effects are usually mild and temporary, including redness, dryness, tingling, or irritation at the application site. Your provider will review your health history to help minimize potential risks and ensure the treatment is safe and effective for you.

Common questions about V-Cream

Visit our FAQ page for more

What conditions does V-Cream treat?

V-Cream is prescribed to help manage viral skin outbreaks, most commonly those caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV). This includes outbreaks such as oral herpes (cold sores) and genital herpes, when appropriate.

How often can I apply V-Cream?

Most patients use it 2–4 times daily, depending on the severity of symptoms. Follow your provider's instructions for best results.

Will V-Cream permanently cure outbreaks?

No. V-Cream helps manage symptoms and outbreaks, but it does not cure viral infections.

Can I use V-Cream with other treatments?

In many cases, yes! V-Cream can be used alongside other treatments when appropriate. Some patients may benefit from combining topical treatment with our oral Valacyclovir tablets for more comprehensive outbreak management. Your provider can help determine whether using one or both options is the best approach based on your symptoms, frequency of outbreaks, and overall health.

Does V-Cream have an odor or taste?

Our V-Cream is formulated without any significant odor or flavor. Avoid consuming this cream beyond what is to be expected from proper cold sore treatment.

If eligible, how much does this treatment cost?

V-Cream is available on a one-time purchase basis. The price includes your initial consultation, follow-up visits, ongoing support, and standard shipping — with no hidden fees.

Your cost depends on which size container you choose:

  • 15 mL - $50 per purchase
  • 30 mL - $90 per purchase
